Before you start this new one-week juice cure to detox your body - hold on for a minute.
If you really are considering doing this detox, read this first. The blog explains pretty well what happens to your body when you go on a cleanse - and why it doesn't bring that much.
Well, in a nutshell: it's because "Nutrition is about the big picture".
Instead of doing just this one week detox cure, revamp your nutrition plan.
Eat more fruits and veggies. Drink more water. Eat less processed food. Cook.
It's that easy. You don't need to skip all the foods you love. Just be aware of what you eat, be mindful while eating it.
And don't forget, health doesn't come with food alone.
You should stay active as well.
No you don't have to run the next marathon. But it's the same like for the diets - do something with lasting results. Something that is feasible, something you like doing. Even if it's just small activity swaps: taking the stairs instead of the elevator. Park your car a bit further away from the office. Or don't take the car at all. When you are cold at home, instead of turning on the heater, just do some push-ups and you body will heat up right away.
The problem with detox plans and crash diets is that they don't set you up for long-term health. If you want to lose or maintain your body weight, it's about long-term commitment. A lifestyle change.
